Our Story

Situated in historic downtown West Jefferson, Sally Mae’s Emporium is not your everyday gift shop. Along with many familiar lines are the work of a number of local artists and crafters who add a unique flavor to our store. Started in 2002 by Karen and Bill Radcliff, Sally Mae’s Emporium is dedicated to Karen’s late mother Sally Mae Burnsed who loved the North Carolina mountains and the unique shops she found here. Our customers love the old-timey look and feel of the Emporium and enjoy visiting often to see the always changing items offered for sale here.
